About the Role
Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements.
Implement frontend enhancements using CSS and JavaScript.
Ensure efficient PHP execution and proper use of WordPress hooks in development.
Integrate WordPress with external services as needed (e.g. payment gateway, OMS)
Collaborate within Agile development workflows, handling tasks from assignment to deployment.
Optimize website performance and user flow, especially for e-commerce functionality.
Monitor and maintain security best practices on WordPress sites.
Debug issues and maintain logging and alert systems for website health.
Requirements
Mandatory
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in WordPress development using WooCommerce
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage time effectively in a freelance environment.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
Strong experience with WordPress development, including PHP, themes, and plugin customization.
Solid understanding of PHP runtime, execution flow, and WordPress hooks.
Proficiency in JavaScript and CSS for frontend customization.
Familiarity with WordPress deployment practices including staging and production workflows.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Good knowledge of WordPress cron jobs and performance optimization techniques.
Ability to debug errors and warnings using Query Monitor and IDEs.
Awareness of WordPress security best practices and implementation.
Optional (Highly Preferred)
Experience developing and customizing complex custom plugins.
Knowledge of SEO best practices specific to WordPress.
Experience integrating WordPress with external APIs or services like payment gateways.
Understanding of resource limitations in hosting environments (memory, thread limits).
Experience recommending and managing essential WordPress plugins for performance and security.
Experience with logging and error alerting in WordPress environments.
Knowledge of advanced security concepts specific to WordPress development.
